WASHINGTON COUNTY READING DAY!
Date: Saturday, May 1, 2010
Place: Valley Mall, Hagerstown, Maryland
Time: 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Each year the Library joins with the Valley Mall, Partners in Literacy, and
the Board of Education to celebrate Reading on the first Saturday in May.
Reading Day is held this year on May 1 at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown from
10:00 am to approximately 2:00 pm.
Historically this event has centered on children as the organizers give away in the
vicinity of 600 children’s books. Last year and again this year the Board of
Education is providing books for this giveaway. Come out to see the magician, a
costume parade, storytellers, and activities throughout the mall. The
Washington County Teen Idol winners close the event with a musical
performance.
This year Reading Day is expanded the program and invited me and other area authors who write
for other than the children’s audience to also join us for this event. I’ll be there to answer questions, read from my work, and sell and sign coupons to download Double Out and Back.
I hope to see you there! If you’re in the area, don’t miss it!
